''? Hardly! I have been told that this is one my special gifts, (no spoon needed, either!) though I cannot imagine why this should be the case! The headline obviously singled out the wrong guy, but I shall be forgiving! As one who can be pretty outspoken myself - in a more quiet way, of course, I have some sympathy with Josh Williamson, although his loud (arrestable) voice is as intrusive as is his non-Scottish accent - says I! Was he really preaching at all, and who to? Judging by the video, everything was carefully - and unprofessionally - stage-managed! We need more places like Speakers' Corner, and Josh Williamson has convinced me of that! He may even be able to reach the deaf!
The unique claims of the Gospel must be proclaimed to every person, but never to an unwilling audience. The message may aggravate the hearer, but the messenger must not!
I, for one, would wish to shop in peace! No precedent must be set to allow anyone to shout at me in public. It may just upset my sensitive nature overmuch, not to mention my ear drums!
It is unwise to use one's rights in order to portray oneself as a victim. Were Josh Williamson to tone down his voice he may yet be able to attract a crowd. I'd suggest Matthew 12:19 'He will not quarrel or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets' (ESV) as the remedy. Enough said! I'll promise to go away - quietly, for the time being, at least!
